Housed in a beautifully restored historical building, The Tasting Room combines the old with the new. The ambiance strikes a balance between industrial charm and contemporary chic, mirroring the transformation of the downtown area itself. The Tasting Room’s goal is to help cultivate forward progress in the city’s efforts to restore the area and help breathe new life into downtown.

Meet the Owners
Lisa Lee
Sommelier | WSET Level 3 Award in Wines with Merit
Lisa Lee is a wine consultant, educator and sommelier residing in The Market Common District of Myrtle Beach, SC. Formally educated through the Wine and Spirits Education Trust based in London, Lisa obtained a Level 3 Award in Wines with Merit and will be continuing her education working toward the Level 4 Diploma. The qualifications gained in this program are globally recognized as the international standard in wine and spirit knowledge. With this background, Lisa has brought wine educational opportunities to those who reside or visit the Grand Strand though tasting and pairing classes. Collaborating with local chefs, Lisa also creates an exclusive wine dinner experience that guests are able to enjoy within their own homes. This was especially important while navigating through the pandemic. With the creating of The Tasting Room, Lisa will curate a well thought out wine program that the area has yet to see. Combining a love of travel, wine and food, Lisa brings a fresh face to the restaurant scene infusing quality wine with a tailored experience for those who seek it.


Jamie Daskalis

Chef Jamie Daskalis, a Culinary Institute of America graduate, has spent over 20 years crafting unforgettable dining experiences. As the owner of Johnny D’s Waffles and Benedicts in Myrtle Beach, SC, she’s earned accolades such as “Best Chef” from South Carolina Woman Magazine and Grand Strand Magazine, authored the cookbook Making It Delicious, and was named South Carolina Chef Ambassador of the Year in 2020 and 2021. Beyond the kitchen, Chef Daskalis is a passionate advocate for Autism Awareness, inspired by her son, James. Through sensory-friendly events, fundraising campaigns, and community outreach, she works to spread understanding and support for families affected by autism. At The Tasting Room on 9th, Chef Jamie combines her culinary expertise and dedication to community, creating an exceptional experience for every guest.
